In my opinion fruit cake gets a bad rap. Ok it's dense and has a sort of sour taste to it but like anything worth it's weight, it needs a chance to prove its greatness. I mean, it's been around since Ancient Rome and many cultures have their own version. Have you tried the deliciously moist Jamaican fruit cake, or the German Stollen bread (Weihnachtsstollen), or how about the lighter, sweeter, Italian Panettone - fruit cakes and breads with their own cultural twist.
